Housing Washington is committed to creating an inclusive, welcoming, and accessible experience for every attendee. Our planning team works intentionally to incorporate accessible elements throughout the event, from registration to session design to on-site support, so participants can fully engage in all conference activities. We also partner closely with the Spokane Convention Center to ensure the venue’s accessibility features are easy to navigate and available to all. BEFORE YOU ARRIVE
Digital Accessibility: Housing Washington is committed to supporting access to information for people with disabilities and continually works to improve the accessibility of its digital content and event experiences. Our website and event app are intended to be usable with commonly available assistive technologies, such as screen readers and adjustable text settings, though accessibility may vary by platform, device, and configuration. Alternative formats, including printed materials and on-site signage, are available to support access to event information. Learn more.

Dietary Needs: Attendees may note dietary restrictions during registration. We offer gluten free, dairy free, nut free vegan, and vegetarian options. Additional requests will be discussed individually and accommodated, when possible, within the available meal offerings.
Interpreter Friendly Seating: Housing Washington provides dedicated front section seating for clear visibility of the stage and ASL interpreters. ASL and closed captioning needs can be indicated during the conference registration process.
ARRIVAL AT THE VENUE
Drop-Off Location: The Spokane Convention Center has a turn-out directly in front of the building for attendees who need a drop-off option prior to parking.
Parking: Reserved accessible parking spaces are available in the Spokane Convention Center parking garage on a first-come, first-served basis. Vehicles must display a valid Disabled Parking Permit.
Service Animals: Service animals are allowed at the Spokane Convention Center in accordance with ADA guidelines. Service dogs must always remain on a leash and under the owner’s control. The Spokane Convention Center has a grassy area for pet relief just outside the hotel entrance on the east side of the hotel. Guests should bring their own waste-disposal bags.
NAVIGATING THE CONVENTION CENTER
Access: The Spokane Convention Center is wheelchair accessible from the Breezeway entrance, hotel connectors, and ADA doors near Centennial Trail. Elevators are available for access to second-floor breakout rooms near Room 101 and Ballroom 111A.
Accessible Restrooms: Wheelchair-accessible stalls are available in all restrooms throughout the building, along with individual family restrooms located by Ballroom 100C.
Emergency Accessibility: The Spokane Convention Center is equipped with accessible emergency exits and ADA-compliant alarm systems. Event staff and venue personnel are available to assist attendees with mobility or sensory needs during emergencies.
Facility Map: The Whova Conference App includes a facility map. It can be accessed under the logistic tile. The map highlights elevators, ramps, restrooms, and event assigned meeting rooms. A large print session map may be requested by emailing registration@housingwa.org.
DURING THE CONFERENCE
Quiet Space: A low-stimulus room will be available for attendees who need a quiet environment to rest or decompress.
On-Site Support: Conference staff are available throughout the event to assist with accessibility needs, including navigation, seating, and general support. Staff can be identified by their name badges with a “Staff” ribbon, and they are always available at the registration desk if you need help.
Accessible Materials: Housing Washington requests that conference presenters apply accessibility standards to their slide templates and presentations. The conference also posts accessible versions of presentations after the conference, as provided by speakers and approved for sharing.
